In particular, Nicola specialises in:

- Special educational needs provision
Nicola is a member of the Sports Law team and has particular experience in personal injury cases arising from gymnastics, having previously participated at a high level. She was also a gymnastics coach and national judge.
Nicola was appointed legal director to the Governing Body for Gymnastics in Wales in 2006 and has advised on a range of issues affecting modern day sport. In addition she has recently been appointed to the Sports Resolution Panel of Arbitrators (lay member), which is an independent service for resolution of sports disputes across the United Kingdom.
